Content Makers for Over 20 Years

Locals and lifelong friends, Jeff Maggio, a fishing guide in Fort Lauderdale, and Chip Mayhugh, filmmaker, started fishing together in the 80s in Fort Lauderdale. Together they were pioneers on YouTube, over 15 years ago, creating the first saltwater fishing channel acquiring bigger audiences than traditional TV.

Always on the cutting edge of digital media, they were the first in the fishing industry to produce live online content. Their lives have been changed forever, due to the biggest sewage spill in recorded history. Fort Lauderdale, known for having the most prestigious beaches in the world, has been devastated by sewage spills of over 500,000 gallons of raw sewage. These sewage spills are bigger than the Deep Water Horizon or the BP Spill and have devastated wildlife, water quality, and the coastal community way of life.

Their new mission is to make content that counts. Content that will help other coastal communities avoid making the same mistakes that were made in Fort Lauderdale.

They will be doing this through video, photos, podcast and content for all social media platforms.

We learned from Dave Marciano, from the hit show Wicked Tuna, during a recent podcast that the most effective way to make change is to educate and unite people from Coastal Communities. Our main goal is to create content to do just this, so thousands of people can be heard as a united voice. There are many hard-working environmental groups that have identified the problems and have provided solutions, but if the majority of people never learn about them, it is very hard to help.

By supporting the CCN you are making a call to action and joining a movement that will be heard. CCN will be scheduling rallies and events in your region. We look forward to growing the largest united community to save Coastal Communities.
